Hello again. Hopefully weebly doesn't do that weird thing again. .
So the "week" began with a bike polo tournament here in East Van! My teammates were Jill and Leon from Tacoma, WA. Jill is a friend from polo from about a year ago and Leon is her partner in crime. I coudn't have asked for better teammates that I've never played with before. The more games we played, the better we synched. Everyone was super positive and we had great report backs after games.
The tournament itself was great. Really well organized with great courts. The biggest thing for me was the fact that there was food available ALL DAY at the food tent. This was huge because it was so hot I was drinking water like crazy and I needed food to offset that water. Games were reffed well, and other than some shady maneuvers by a few players, game play was pretty clean. Podium finishes went to Seattle, Seattle, and Portland (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
After the tournament I decided to go for a bike ride and I decided to head out to Horseshoe Bay. This is the route that I will be going when I head out of town so I was scoping things out a little and trying to get a feel for kilometers as well as put in some miles before I actually head out. It was a relatively easy ride with a narrow road with no shoulder, but plenty of driveways to pull into. Motorists appreciated when I pulled off and hopefully I will be able to comply when I'm laden with gear. Here are a few photos.

In the picture of my bike you can see my newly installed handlebar bag and 40oz water bottle cage. I am very excited about both.
The next few days were filled with polo and volunteering at OCB (I will do a separate post about that experience later) and celebrating birthdays.
At said birthday a bike ride was proposed and I agreed! Even better breakfast was suggested as well!

This house was also the home of this wonderful animal named Nermal. I took a rather glamourous shot of her which really doesn't do her mane justice.
After coffe and breakfast the crew headed out to the Seymour Demonstration FOrest which is this lovely 9k stretch of paved road which is blocked off to motor vehicles. At the end of it was a river, which is fed by glacial run-off. Very cold, but refreshing after a bike ride. We hung out on the log. Jumped in and out several times. Dried ourselves in the sun, then headed back for some awesome games of polo. After polo it was BBQ time for me and then some much anticipated sleep. All in all, a great week.
